Special #03: Revenge of the Fallen & I Can't Get Up

WISE FWOM YOUR GRABE

I figure it's time to peek my head out the damn cave I've been living in for the past six months and let you all know that this hermit isn't dead. Not yet.

The Venture Bros. season 2 episode continues apace, and if you listen to the episode you'll learn the largely insignificant reason that I've been delaying it for so long. Actually, for some if will be maddening and for a very select few it will be the coolest reason in the world. I leave it to you to decide.

Tonight I bring you another guest review by Matt Murray of Corn Pone Flicks, as read by me. It's Michael Bay's big loud Hollywood action sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. And you know what? I don't think Matt liked it.

Lather's Blather Episode #13.5: A Rather Jolly-Looking Flamethrower

Time to check in with a new episode--but it's not the one you were expecting! For reasons revealed within the podcast itself, Episode 14 isn't ready yet, so rather than break my old record of time elapsed between podcasts I've elected instead to turn out a shorter episode based on something a bit easier to review: The Penguins of Madagascar.

Direct download is here, or if you prefer the streaming version is in the Gcast player to your right or in the Podcast Pickle Player. Maybe. If it works.

Please excuse our dust.

So I'm a bit fed up with Podcast Pickle. I've had to send off for new passwords twice now, and for whatever reason they chose to stop supporting the old individual episode players, so I've got to go back and put in code for the new player. And I've no idea why episode 3 and episode 13 are missing from the big player at the top of the page.

Le sigh.

So now I'm trying a couple of new places with which I hope to expand the podcast's listenership. The first is Podcast Kicks, which aims to be the new Digg of Podcasts since, as I mentioned in episode 13, Digg pretty much ejected their podcast section. The second is Podcast Alley, which is where the little bit of code at the bottom of this post is connected.

Onward and upward, dear Cohort. Onward and upward.

Convention Plague: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Yeah, I got sick most likely because of Ohayocon. When you stick around 8,000 young folks and not-so-young folks together in an enclosed environment you're bound to be exposed to a cornucopia of maladies.

So I obviously won't be recording episode #13 until my head unclogs itself, but rest assured I'm ready to go once that happens. In the meantime, let's go bowling with Peelander-Z! I was lucky enough to be right there as it happened.

Anime Hell: The Throwdown at Ohayocon!

I've been very busy getting things prepared for the two nights of Anime Hell programming scheduled at Ohayocon, Jan 30 - Feb 1 in Columbus OH. Since we're doing two nights of shows, the other co-hosts and I thought it might be a good idea to wrap everything up in a pro wrestling theme, with Friday being "RAW" and Saturday being "SmackDown". Yeah, I know Smackdown's on Friday... it's the spirit of the thing!

So here I present to you the opening for Friday night's show! It might be worth checking the YouTube link to see the high quality version, which is, surprisingly, a good deal better.

Lather's Blather Special #02: Twilight's Last Reaming

Back in the new year with another Matt Murray-penned review episode, this time disemboweling the teenage vampire fantasy Twilight. Marvel at the lack of respect for vampire lore and storytelling!

Direct download is here.

Oh, and as extra bit of pain, here's the music video for DJ BoBo's "Vampires Are Alive". I reiterate that the paths of these two things have probably never crossed, and I only do so here for the sake of comedy. Ha. Ha ha ha.
